Grows around the lake, and produces these seed heads around late September.

I wanna know too! They smell so sweet and they grow as giant bushes in the lowlands near copan lake. Personally, I like to think they contribute to why Tim Tucker’s honey is so good!

Hi Jemme. I found out that this is “Buttonbush” (Cephalanthus occidentalis). They have an amazingly complex flower.
