With apologies to Mac Davis and his Lubbock, Texas song. We got some much needed rain today. We could use a lot more of it.

This creek seems to have oil leaking into it from somewhere. So many small oil wells around here, it’s amazing we don’t see more pollution.

Tonight was our annual Rotary Club Daddy/Daughter Dance. When we started this about 12 years ago, I said I would take photos and give each girl a 4×6 print to take home. That first time there were only 20 pictures to take, but it has grown. Tonight we shot and printed 159 photos in 2 hours…that’s hustling. I had three very capable people helping. We were just exhausted when done. It’s very satisfying to get these shots of the girls and their dads though. You can just see the excitement in these little girls to have the undivided attention of their dad for one night.

A while back my wall oven started acting crazy. I determined it was a faulty temperature sensor and ordered one from the manufacturer for $79.00. I decided to take the old one apart to look at it’s innards. The blue chip is the actual sensor which slides into the metal tube. The dime represents what I think it actually costs to make this chip. Can you say “profit margin”?
