Tiny quartz crystals…

Sandstone is composed mostly of quartz grains held together with other minerals. Where erosion has worn away this coating, these crystals shine like little diamonds in the sunlight.

Some nice salmon colored clouds this evening. No salmon here, but the largemouth bass were putting on a show leaping clear of the water (none in this photo). They must be chasing shad.

Ol Mose lived a good long life. i found this stone in a country cemetery that served a long gone black community. Obviously he was born before Oklahoma statehood, when this was still Indian Territory.
