Crinoid…

I was informed by a friend that the fossil in the previous post was a Crinoid, a marine creature dating to the mid to late Paleozoic era (300 to 360 million years ago). I got to thinking about an odd looking pile of fossils I had seen last year not too far away. I went back today to get a shot of that group and decided that they must be the same type Crinoids. This site must have been a low area where hundreds of these fossils were deposited by running water. Virtually every “stone” you see in this picture is a fossil.

I’m not sure what to make of this formation. The nickel size circle appears to be a harder mineral than the surrounding rock. May be a tree limb that petrified, or snake, or worm, or…

I spotted this while walking along a large weathered limestone deposit which has been eroded by a river. I’m not sure, but it looks like a fish fossil to me.
